About our Green Acorn Finial We cut our Green Acorn Finial from selected softwoods, providing an attractive finish to a timber post. We also pressure treat our finials to enhance their style and protect the timber from insect infestation, fungal decay, and rot. Since exposure to weather conditions can cause the timber to fade over time, we recommend further staining to maintain the product’s appearance. Please Note: Tanalised pressure treated timber has a built-in colouration and depending on the timber species the treatment colour may vary slightly. Log Selection When using natural resources, carefully selecting them is crucial for creating successful products. Hand-selecting all raw materials ensures they suit the intended components. Workers produce each component from the appropriate section of the log, using only the highest quality raw material. They saw the logs into rectangular shapes in the ‘Green mill.’ In the mill, workers fully saturate and saw the logs, leaving the wood with a rough surface. If the timber needs to be seasoned or dried, we remove much of the moisture during this step. Finally, workers machine seasoned products to achieve smooth or shaped surfaces.
