The logs are fully saturated, and the sawing process leaves a rough surface on the wood because it tears out some fibers rather than cutting them. In the next step, we then remove most of the moisture from the timber if it needs seasoning or drying. After seasoning, we machine the timber to achieve smooth or shaped surfaces.
