Cut from selected softwoods, our Green Fence Post Cap provides an attractive finish to a timber post, whilst also serving as important protection against the weather. We supply our Green Post Cap pressure-treated to enhance their style and protect the timber from insect infestation, fungal decay, and rot. Exposure to weather conditions may cause the timber to fade over time, so we recommend further staining to maintain and enhance the product’s appearance. Please Note: Tanalised pressure treated timber has a built-in colouration. Depending on the timber species the treatment colour may then vary slightly. Log Selection Careful selection of natural resources is also crucial for creating successful products. We hand-select all raw materials to match the specific components we intend to produce. Each component must come from the appropriate section of the log and be made from the highest quality raw materials. Next, we then saw the logs into rectangular shapes in the ‘Green mill,’ where they become fully saturated. The saws leave a rough surface on the wood because some fibers are torn out rather than cut. If the timber needs seasoning or drying, we remove much of the moisture from the wood in the next step. Finally, we machine the seasoned products to achieve smooth or shaped surfaces.
